Turn The Road To A Piece Of Art
A road exists to serve the purpose of transportation. It also could be a piece of artwork and a golden business card that displays the image of the city and conveys humanistic care. The international G20 Summit in Hangzhou brought us the opportunity to upgrade Wangjiang Road. Based on site investigations, we set up people oriented and sustainable development design principles. We reorganized the layout of a green belt on both sides of the road and made a complete streamlined green landscape through rationalizing plant allocation and multi level planting. Road junction is a very important visual node so we designed three dimensional greening and flower art theme at these nodes to greet the G20 summit. They were designed to enhance the artistry and for the enjoyment of the public.
 After upgrading, Wangjiang Road has been transformed into a city landscape avenue with bright and dynamic colours. It has become one of the spectacular sceneries of Hangzhou. People passing by here cannot help but stop to appreciate the view.
